2) KAZUKO HOHKI solo releases

Kazuko Hohki chante Brigitte Bardot

1987/1991
LP/CD: Chabada (CH12)

Kazuko sings solo. The songs are old hit songs by Brigitte Bardot arranged by Steve Beresford (with some new ones written by them). When Kazuko sang, the French was transcribed to Japanese phonetic letters, so the meaning became surreal.

Love in Rainy Days

1987/1992
LP/CD: Chabada (CH22)

It has love songs connected to rain, and some original, all arranged by Steve Beresford. The only problem was Kazuko's expression on the cover photo (which was chosen by record company), but the record itself has some Grace Jones style and is very "cool".

3) COLLABORATIONS

Kahondo Style - My Heart's in Motion

1985
LP: nato (469)

The first LP by British improvising cult band Kahondo Style. Half improvised, half original. It has Tokyo Ondo, Thai instrument, accordion, shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute), etc - all live instruments. No drum machine. We sweated a lot.

(Note: nato = French independent label led by French eccentric Jean Rochard
Chabada = Subsidiary of nato)

Kahondo Style - Green Tea and Crocodiles

1987
LP: nato (1279)

The second LP. Half improvised, half made up songs. It sold well in Austria and Germany, I heard.

Alternate Cake

1986
LP: nato (824)

Collection of the musicians involved in NATO records. Kazuko participated in one song with Kahondo Style and another with David Toop.

Destination

1993
CD: nato (DK011 530142)

The second collection of NATO musicians. Kazuko joins in one song with Steve Beresford.

4) GUEST APPEARANCES, OR SONG WRITTEN FOR IT

Teo Joling - Concerts for Eyes

1984
LP: BVHAAST (065)

Kazuko joined in this record by Dutch improvising musician Teo Joling. She utters noise "Hyam Hyam". Art.

Ann Marie Beretta - Dancing the Line

1986
LP: nato (565)

Steve Beresford made the songs for the fashion show by French designer Ann Marie Beretta. Kazuko sings some songs on it, and appeared in the fashion show. She was buried among tall French models in the show.

Kokoro no Prowrest (Prowrestling of the Heart)

1993
CD: TYCY (5334-35)

Collection of theme songs for female pro wrestlers. This participation happened from accidental meeting with the producer of this record in PCM office (Pretty Frank Chickens coordinator) which Kazuko happened to visit. His words "I read your essay every month" made Kazuko participate for no money. Her song was dedicated to one pro wrestler, Numacchi.

Bing Selfish & The Ideals - Binging It All Back Home

1994
LP: Out of Depression (OUT 27)

Made by Kazuko's friend Bing Selfish and produced by Kazuko's other friend Rob Murphy (Doctor That). Both are non-commercial genius source for Kazuko's inspiration. Kazuko joins Bing singing songs about Ideals and Kyoto Kids.
